The enhancement of antibacterial and anti‐biofouling properties of chitosan/silver nanoparticles‐grafted composite polyamide membrane

Abstract This study endeavors to augment the antibacterial and anti‐biofouling properties of thin‐film composite polyamide membranes by subjecting them modification with chitosan silver nanoparticle materials through UV‐induced graft polymerization technique. Various surface assessment methods were employed, efficiency membrane performance was demonstrated flux retention filtration process, which used calcium chloride as foulant. Antibacterial, antifouling, capabilities assessed several tests. The findings revealed that chitosan/silver nanoparticles‐grafted exhibited superior abilities consistent enhanced retention, underscoring prospective implementation this approach in systems curtail biofouling bolster overall efficacy.
